How to Clean the Green Water of your Pool

First step is to shock the pool. You can use granule chlorine and mix it with water (which is cheaper) or buy a liquid shock. Make sure you follow the instruction on the chlorine package.

Second, add an algaecide to the pool water. Follow the instructions on the package.

Clean your filter and all the baskets. Run the filter for 24 hours.

After 24 hours test the water again. The algaecide will lower your chlorine level. Make sure you keep it at the appropriate levels.

The pool water may become cloudy and have dead algae on the floor. Vacuum up the algae and clean the filter out again.

Just keep running the filter and cleaning it until that water is clear.

Once you back on track, remember to keep checking your pool chemical balance and run the filter every day for at least 3 hours. It will save you a lot of aggravation.

One extra tip: Don’t let anyone in the water until the chemical balance is normal.

Never permit the pool to be used unless at least one person other than the bather is present. Children must always be under careful adult supervision.
Do not dive or jump into any above ground pool. They are not designed for diving or jumping.
